WGIRLS Long Island Brings in the Holiday Cheer

Tuesday, December 6, 2011

The WGIRLS Long Island transformed into elves, an angel, a penguin, Rudolph, and Frosty on December 3 to spend the day with little boys and girls excited for Santa, and to benefit Deborah Heart and Lung Center of New Jersey.  Hosted at the American Legion Hall in Islip, the children spent hours getting their faces painted, making crafts, eating tons of yummy food, taking pictures with the characters and Santa's friends, and, best of all, getting presents from Santa and Mrs. Clause!  The constant smiles on the children's faces made it clear that they were having a great time - and the parents were so thankful to have this opportunity for their children!  The WGIRLS Long Island enjoyed the day, maybe more than the kids, and look forward to volunteering again next year!

Deborah Heart and Lung Center diagnoses and treats all forms of cardiac, vascular, and pulmonary diseases in adults, and congenital and acquired heart defects in adults and children.  The Center has an 89 bed hospital with a full-services ambulatory care center.
