GIVE THE GIFT OF LIFE THIS HOLIDAY SEASON. Help Save Micah.
WHAT: On December 28th, WGIRLS NOLA will be holding a blood and platelet drive for Micah Roshell. You may remember Brees’ number one fan, Micah, who is battling Hodgkin's lymphoma, from a moving pre-game special during Super Bowl XLIV. ESPN featured the story of how Micah’s courageous spirit helped Brees and team win the Saints vs Cardinals game that led the Saints to the Superbowl title. Two years later, Micah is still in need of blood and platelets on a daily basis. All blood types are accepted. With more than 1,000 blood donations needed every day in the region, donors are encouraged to continue their commitment over the holiday season. Hospitals in South Louisiana and parts of the Mississippi Gulf Coast region depend on blood donations for traumas, surgeries, premature babies and terminal ill patients. As many individuals are off work during the holiday season, The Blood Center & WGIRLS NOLA are asking those who are able to take less than an hour of their time to donate blood.
WHEN/WHERE: We are holding Micah’s blood drive Wednesday, December 28th at the Metairie Donor Center, 3400 16th Street. You may also donate at any of the following Neighborhood Donor Centers listed: West Bank, Slidell, Picayune, Mandeville, LaPlace, Hammond, Baton Rouge. For locations or to schedule your donation, visit http://www.thebloodcenter.org/ or call 1-800-86-BLOOD.
