What is the purpose of this campaign?

The purpose of this campaign is to support women fleeing domestic and sexual violence.  Some of these women remain in their homes but many of these women leave and flee to refuges with their children for overall safety.  Women who flee their homes with their children often leave behind a lot of their personal belongings.  The donated health and beauty products (i.e. soap, tampons, toothpaste and make up) and Glamour and Giving fundraiser enable the WGIRLS to treat the women who access Solace Women's Aid services to a well deserved pamper day.

WGIRLS is proudly supporting Solace Women's Aid (SWA) for the second year.  SWA's vision is to support and protect women and children affected by domestic and sexual violence.

The money raised from Glamour & Giving is used to for the 'Pamper Day', as well as to purchase essential items that wouldn’t be donated in the Declutter and Give Back! initiative (click here for further information on Declutter and Give Back!)(such as feminine products, toothbrushes and other non-beauty products), and spending a papering afternoon at refuge houses.
